Blu-ray in every home? Backers aim for $99 players
DVD players didn’t overtake VCRs and spread throughout US living rooms until they hit the magic $99 price point. It has been argued that Blu-ray doesn’t have a chance of going mainstream until they, too, drop below $100. Indications are that this may happen at some point this year—maybe in time for the annual holiday shopping frenzy.

Sources speaking to Ars have discovered evidence of new voice control features coming to iPhone OS 3.0. Apparently going by the code name “Jibbler,” it looks like it will provide not just voice synthesis, but also voice recognition for the upcoming iPhone OS 3.0.

Hulu rumored to have iPhone app in development
Hulu is reportedly working on an app to bring its streaming TV and movie service to Apple’s iPhone. The app, which isstill in the development process, is said by an unnamed industry executive to be as “badass” as Hulu’s popular website.

Developers continue to leak details of Apple’s iPhone OS 3.0, which is currently still in beta. The operating system, which is widely speculated to have a release date sometime in June, was first seeded to developers in March and has since gone through several updates. Windows Mobile 6.5 to launch on May 11
Microsoft TechEd 2009 is this year’s iteration of the company’s conference that gives “technical education” to developers and IT Professionals. Traditionally, Microsoft gives more insight on the latest versions of its various products, and according to the Windows Mobile Team Blog, the next release of Windows Mobile will be making its official debut at the event.
